WE
ARE HERE! Praise the Lord that on June 18, the Coulters arrived safely in Albania! Thanks to all of you who
have been praying and waiting to hear from us. We apologize that getting email communication up and running has taken longer
than anticipated. Last minute travel plans meant we arrived in Albania a week later than originally planned. Settling in just
takes time. Thanks for your patience and continued prayers. We made all our airline connections. Within five days of our arrival,
all our suitcases reached Albania, too!
Ministry Update: Our first ministry is
to learn Albanian. We are finding this a necessity for everyday life! So a week and a half after arriving, we met with our
language helper for our first lesson. She comes three mornings a week. She is a believer from a local evangelical church,
Disciples Church. This is where we currently attend on Sunday mornings. During this time, another young lady (from the same church) comes
to be with Philip and Zane. They really like Miss Doreena. Both of these ladies are a real blessing to us. While Oreola teaches
Eric and I, Doreena is helping Philip and Zane with their Albanian acquisition as well. Elise just sleeps, eats, and plays
through the whole session!
We are so excited... to be here for the first service
of the Wesleyan Church! On July 23rd, we will gather together in the ministry center for our first service! What a joy it
will be to see the ministry center being used as a place of worship once again! Since we are the newest missionaries on the
field with the least Albanian friends to invite, we will have a "background" role in this service. The Coulters
will be praying during the service which will be at 6pm on the 23rd of July. Since there is a seven hour time difference,
please remember to pray for us while you are gathering in your own churches next Sunday!
Family
Life: It has taken about this entire month, but we are unpacked and into a workable routine.
Philip and Zane are doing well. Philip has been able to talk with us about his likes and dislikes about our new home. They
have both really connected well with the Bishop's sons (Stephen-6 and Josh-10). Elise charms everyone she meets.
And she is a huge asset to Amber's language practice time. Everyone wants to know her name and age. The Albanians are
so loving and good to children! Our apartment is wonderful for us! It is just the right size for our family and stays
relatively cool on these hot summer days. Most importantly, our landlord and his family are wonderful, friendly, loving people.
They see us as part of their family. And they are wonderful to speak Albanian with us everyday. We can see that God has prepared
us to be in this place. Thank you for your prayers which are daily being answered!
Prayer Requests:
* For Philip to make some Albanian friends despite his fear about
not knowing the language
*For our language learning to come as easily
as possible
* For our new church that started 2 Sundays ago
*For Residency Permits & Vehicle Registration
